Designed by Gary sanders (Dax's design engineer) to compete with the Ram supertube cobra, it proved an instant success with an average weight saving of 40% over the conventional ladder chassis. But production was expensive and it was eventually shelved. Nevertheless, these cars are much prized and would be worthy of a collector with his eye to future values.

This version has been through our ownership before, the last owner having kept it for 5 years. It is fitted with Chevy 5700 cc V8 with 4 barrel Holley carb. 5 speed gearbox, edelbrock rocker covers. 4 into 1 chrome side pipes, ally water & washer tanks. 15" Halibrand replica alloys with spinners & Goodrich tyres. heater, full width stainless roll bar. Stewart Warner instruments. Only 7,000 recorded miles with comprehensive history file and old MOT's. Luxury black leather interior with harness belts. Motolita woodrim steering wheel. The Dax Cobra (DJ Sportscars) is one of the stalwarts of the kit car industry. Using the proven formula of Jaguar brakes and suspension mounted to a robust ladder frame chassis, it is capable of running any number of high power V8 engines.

In this example we have a virtually brand new car (only having done 500 dry test miles), and being Dax's latest De Dion camber compensation front suspension chassis. Fitted with 'Re Power' Chevy 350 c i V8 rated at a stonking 425 bhp! Edelbrock Performer manifold with 4 barrel car. and Tremec 5 spd. gearbox. Limited slip diff.

Made predominantly from new parts, hence the '10' reg., no expense has been spared in creating this superb machine. 4 into 1 stainless side pipes, braided hoses, large capacity sump, hydraulic clutch, 18" Halibrand alloys with spinners and Toyo tyres. Coachwork is finished in gleaming unmarked Embassy black with contrasting white Le Mans stripes. Full luxury leather interior in black. Hoop roll bar, Thatcham alarm/immobiliser. Smith's white faced instruments. Tonneau cover, Willans safety harnesses, MoMo leather steering wheel, AC original style side air vents, quick lift racing type jacking points. All brightwork etc.

A great deal of thought and effort has gone into this project to produce such a well finished car. Exhaust manifolds are all heat wrapped, additional vents have been built into the nose area and all wiring has been neatly laid out and wrapped. Early viewing is strongly recommended as cars of this calibre are hard to find. Fully IVA tested.

Very rare opportunity to acquire a factory built example of these much sought after makes with full authentication from Carroll Shelby himself. In fact Ram is the only Cobra replica that has this endorsement and then only a handful of them received it.

This example is fitted with Chevy 350 c.i. V8 (circa 300 bhp) with Holley carb and Edelbrock 'Performer' manifold. Servo assisted clutch and 5 speed gearbox with steel bellhousing. Oil cooler, Jaguar suspension & brakes, limited slip diff. twin Kenlowe fans, heater. 7,400 rec. miles with all old MOT certs.

Full luxury cream leather interior piped in green. Wilton carpets, tonneau cover, Motolita black leather steering wheel. Stewart Warner instruments. Willans harnesses, twin hoop roll bars, 16" Halibrand replica alloys with spinners & Dunlop SP Sport tyres. All brightwork, bumpers etc. 'Space saver' spare wheel. Underfloor exhausts in stainless.

Finished in BMW laguna pearlescent coachwork, this actual car is featured in 'Cobra Replicas' book (page 97 on). The chassis was designed by the racing car specialist Adrian Reynard and well over 1,000 examples have been produced. Lightweight super-tube construction made these cars very desirable for motorsport. This car has a comprehensive specially produced wallet with full history of the car along with Shelby authentication plates showing commission no. CSX-R 4050. This car has great investment potential and is undoubtedly the best Ram we have owned. She has been named by her first owner "La Maitresse" (The mistress) and its easy to see why! The car drives beautifully as you would expect and has a registration date over 30 years old so, ideal for our overseas customers. I commend this car to you and expect interest to be strong.
